Born in Hungary and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Barka is a Marseille-based artist and designer.

Her multicultural background living in vibrant landscapes deeply influences her work. Combining graphic design with painting, she creates bold, evocative art that reflects her love of colour and sunshine.

Barka’s career includes exclusive collaborations such as designing illustrations for the InterContinental hotel as well as the prehistoric museum Cosquer in Marseille, wallpaper for office spaces, a lampshade for the Italian design brand Creative Cables, and more recently, artwork for the high fashion concept store Lulli in Marseille.

Barka has exhibited her work at the renowned Finders Keepers designer market in Sydney and the Mariettes all-feminine illustration market in Paris. Her art has been sold in cities such as Budapest, Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Paris and Sydney.

Currently, she works as the store and events manager at Bàti Bàti, a new creative space in Marseille, where you can often also spot her painting her latest artwork in the workshop space.
